We played the BB scenario tonight - I had the Brits and suffered a TOTAL defeat ... how you might ask, well read on, photos will be with me from my gloating opponent tomorrow.
It all started badly from the FOW card I had to draw at the start - it was the large IED card which Steve placed 'on' the Viking driving up to drop the engineers off and have a shura with the village elders who were all waiting in the middle of the table!
Not only did they fail to spot it when it went off it killed all the elders, and then managed 3 unsaved hits on the Viking and Steve rolled a 6 - BREW. All the occupants were badly injured as he drive cab erupted!
The scenario then really became an extraction mission on my part ... oops first reaction prompted another FOW card - this time a large off board mortar and 'dicker' - my lot of course failed to PID him so he was free to try and bring a barrage in ... of course he managed to bring it straight in as soon as and there went a WMIK and two more T2 casualties. Having to deal with all the casualties occupied the Brits and two large groups of Talis manage to CHARGE into close combat (can't remember ever having close combat in a non enclosed terrain game) and they managed to finish off a fire team.
It was all I could do to drive them back and limp off the board - over 20 victory points to a big FAT ZERO ... a very grey day back at the FOB.
However it was a great 80 minute game and yet again had what I imagine to be the right feel to the situation ... another convert at the club was made as well

Initial set up:
A bad moment:
The Elders were waiting for the meeting ... lots of civilians were caught in the large IED blast ![img]
Not a good result ... but a great game![/img] |
