Hey Guys,
could anyone please describe in a few words what´s the additional rules of FoF in comparison to AA? I heard that AA and FoF are 90%+ the same. So what´s the 10%?
(Oh yeah, I already know that in FoF there are two regular forces fighting... )
Than alot for any hints...

AA is a force of regulars against a force of irregulars.
FoF is a force of regulars vs. Regulars, Regulars vs. Mixed Force; (Regulars and irregulars), or Mixed Force Vs. Mixed Force. It also has some rules that let you add a bit to your AA games.
If I was only going to get to buy one. FoF
With that said I would hate to not have the scenarios in AA. |

In my opinion:
FOF tweaks AA so that it isn't geared to one side acting and the other reacting . In AA that is the way it works ... in FOF it would not work for reg v. reg. In FoF initiative is tested for at start of go.
Vehicles are more detailed and tweaked in FoF and are more fragile in theory.
Both sides can trigger FOW cards.
Units have new characteristics - confidence and equipment supply/quality
Hope that helps. |

Slightly off topic, but I'm allowed. Just so everyone knows after the Osprey release we'll be looking at putting up a free download of all the scenarios in both the original AA and FOF. Since we'll have all new ones in the new book other than Contracting Trouble. |

Yeah, I know...
FoF is a force of regulars vs. Regulars, Regulars vs. Mixed Force; (Regulars and irregulars), or Mixed Force Vs. Mixed Force.
Again - yeah, I know by now...
It also has some rules that let you add a bit to your AA games.
Well, these additional rules are that what I´m hoping to get some short details...
If I was only going to get to buy one. FoF

As far as I could find out, in FoF both players roll dice to find out, who´s got the initiative for the next turn. And there is more things concerning vehicles. But is that all? Please, gimme some more input... |

There are rules for air support, large caliber artillery, helos, anti tank guns and field guns. Also some rules have two versions. Basicly a WW2 version and the modern version. Things like medics, gunnery, and airpower have evolved and by basicly changing one or two rules they make both eras work.
Combat is resolved a bit differently than in AA. Large mobs are no longer quite so bullet proof. Small teams are no longer quite so easy to wipe out in one shot. Both sides are rolling the same number of attacking dice before adjusting for the various modifiers.
The vehicles are redone and play much smoother, to me, than they do in AA.
Vehicles are still not something you want to stand toe to toe with if you are infantry but they are not quite the unstoppable force they are in AA.
I hope this more along the lines of what you want. |

@cerberus:
yep, that´s what I hoped to get Thank you. I´d really appreciate some kind of rule introduction as we have for AA in form of "Contracting Trouble!" for free download.
